Returning Seminary Students Scholarships

Please be sure to have your application sent in before the deadline of the scholarships and bursaries. Some scholarships require a reference letter(s) from your pastor, teacher, professor, or community leader. If you are to include a reference letter, please include the following:

  1. How long your Referee has known you and in what capacity.
  2. A description of your character.
  3. Why your Referee thinks that you are qualified for the scholarship or bursary that you have applied for.

Please have your referee sent their letter in to info@prov.ca either by mail or through email.

GuardMe Insurance Scholarship

Providence is not currently accepting submissions for GuardMe Insurance Scholarship because the deadline (Saturday, April 1, 2017) has passed.

GuardMe Insurance Scholarship (1 available)

This scholarship is available to returning international students enrolled in a degree program. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be from a country designated as least developed or with a low GDP.

To apply for this scholarship: Applicants must submit an essay of 400 words outlining what they plan to do in their field to make a difference in the world, a statement as to why they have a financial need and a copy of their GPA from the preceding semester. A letter of reference/recommendation from a high school teacher, university professor, pastor or community leader is required with this application.

In order to receive the above scholarship, students must meet the following criteria/requirements:

  • Applicant must meet criteria for enrollment.
  • Applicant must maintain a minimum Accumulated Grade Point Average (AGPA) of 3.0
  • The MA applicant must be currently enrolled in no less than 18 credit hours over the school year.
  • Applicants must be from a country listed as least developed or failing any applications from these countries; a country with a low GDP.
  • When the above criteria/requirements are met, the recipient will receive $500, awarded in the second semester of that year. This application will be considered only after a formal application to Providence Theological Seminary has been received. Application deadline: April 1




TESOL Scholarship

Providence is not currently accepting submissions for TESOL Scholarship because the deadline (Saturday, April 1, 2017) has passed.

TESOL Scholarship

This scholarship is available to new or returning full-time students entering an MA TESOL or MA TTESOL program. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must submit an essay of 400 words outlining why they want to study TESOL or TTESOL at Providence and what they plan to do in this field to make a difference in the world. Please comment on how this bursary will assist you in meeting your financial needs in attending Providence. A letter of reference/recommendation from a university professor, pastor or community leader is required with this application.

In order to receive the above scholarship, students must meet the following criteria/requirements:

  • Applicant must maintain a minimum Accumulated Grade Point Average (AGPA) of 3.0.
  • Applicant must be enrolled in no less than 18 credit hours over the fall, winter, and summer semesters.
  • Applicant must meet criteria for enrollment.
  • Applicant must be enrolled in a Seminary degree program majoring in TESOL or TTESOL.

When the above criteria/requirements are met, the recipient will receive $2500, awarded in the second semester of that year.

This application will be considered only after a formal application to Providence Theological Seminary has been received.

The Grace McAllister Scholarship

Providence is not currently accepting submissions for The Grace McAllister Scholarship because the deadline (Saturday, April 1, 2017) has passed.

The Grace McAllister Scholarship, $500 (1 available)

This one-time scholarship is available to students who are involved in camp ministry (first preference to One Hope Canada workers). Applicants must submit this form, which includes two brief essay questions stating how being involved in camp ministry has affected him/her, and why he/she desires to study at Providence.

In order to receive the above scholarship, students must meet the following criteria/requirements:

  • Applicant must maintain an acceptable Accumulated Grade Point Average (AGPA) of 2.5.
  • Applicant must be enrolled in no less than 18 credit hours over the fall, winter, and summer semesters.
  • Applicant must meet criteria for enrollment.
  • Applicant must be enrolled in a Seminary degree program.

When the above criteria/requirements are met the recipient will receive $500, awarded in the second semester of that year.

The W. Lawrence McAllister Scholarship

Providence is not currently accepting submissions for The W. Lawrence McAllister Scholarship because the deadline (Saturday, April 1, 2017) has passed.

The W. Lawrence McAllister Scholarship, $500 (1 available)
