Did You Know?

The following facts present a picture of our student body profile.

The University College

  • Did you know that 25% of our students are on one of our varsity sports teams?
  • Did you know that 25% of our students are performing in one of our musical or theatre groups?
  • Did you know that last year our students contributed 4500 hours of service in the local community?
  • Did you know that 64% of our students come from Manitoba?
  • Did you know that 13% of our students come from outside North America?
  • Did you know that the three largest majors among graduating students last year were Business Administration, Social Science, and Youth Leadership?
  • Did you know that 67 students made the Dean’s Honours List last winter with a grade point average of 3.75 or higher?
  • Did you know that Providence alumni have served in over 50 countries around the world from open countries to limited access countries like Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, and North Korea?

Students are gaining valuable knowledge in the classroom and are getting co-curricular opportunities that most of them would not get at a large university.

The Seminary

  • Did you know that 44% of our graduates last year received a counseling degree?
  • Did you know that one third of the credits we sold this fall were for online courses?
  • Did you know that we are offering 20 one-week module courses and 12 online courses during this school year?
  • Did you know we generally offer about 10 summer school courses each year?
  • Did you know that 11% of our students come from outside North America?
  • Did you know that only 15-20% of our students are full-time?
  • Did you know that most of our students are involved in regular ministry?
  • Did you know that 20% of our students are taking courses in Calgary at our Ambrose University College extension site?
  • Did you know that there are 26 people in our Doctor of Ministry program and that these students come to campus for one week three times per year?

Seminary students nowadays are not always able to commit to relocation for full-time studies. Providence Seminary is all about accessibility. This means that the seminary has become flexible in how and when courses are offered.
