Distance Education

Distance Education That Fits Your Schedule

Start your Providence degree from home, upgrade your education and take advantage of convenient delivery options. In addition to traditional classroom courses that can be taken in Otterburne and at our Calgary Extension Site (Ambrose Seminary), we also offer modular (1 & 2 week intensives) courses that can be taken during the summer months, January inter-session, or during one of our intra-sessions held in November and March. For those students unable to attend a campus-based course, we offer online courses that can be taken from anywhere in the world in which access to an Internet connection is available. For more details on course schedules, please visit the Registrar's Office

Graduate Certificate Programs (Online)

Providence Theological Seminary offers four graduate certificate programs that can be completed entirely online by distance education.

Degree Programs (Distance - Combination)

Providence Theological Seminary offers five fully accredited degrees in which students may take up to one year of studies by distance education.

The Seminary has a growing number of courses that can be taken online. In addition, some courses can be taken by independent study. The combination of these two modes of course delivery can equal up to thirty hours of a student’s courses in the Master of Divinity, Masters of Arts degrees in Education Studies, Counselling, and Counselling Psychology and in the Master of Arts (Christian Studies) degree.

Given the number of modular courses offered by the Seminary it is entirely possible that students will not need to relocate to complete the above stated degrees. Careful planning is the key to finishing these programs in a timely fashion. Independent Study courses are limited to three in two-year programs and five in three-year programs.
