This year we have a record number of 54 students who have one or more parents that attended school at Providence College & Seminary.  It was fun to reconnect with some of them as they were here for the Parent Orientation on Sept. 7th.  It is encouraging for us to see second and third generation alumni /students.  See the list below:

Providence 25 Year Reunion

July 10-12, 2009  

This was a weekend of firsts! It was the first to use the new Reimer Student Life Center for a reunion and the first time to plan my own reunion. We invited alumni that attended Providence College during 1981-1984 to come back to Otterburne to celebrate their 25 Year Reunion.

The second weekend in July is the Providence Reunion Weekend. We do a cycle of 10, 25 and 40 year reunions. Friday night was a night of figuring out who is who and catching up with each other. There was no problem connecting and visiting right from the beginning. We had over 60 people attend this weekend. Saturday morning it was good to have Walter Martens & Cal Dirks lead us in worship. Dennis Hiebert spoke to us on Faith-Full Change and challenged us and helped us to understand our own faith journey more. It was good to hear feedback from each other as we had lunch together. The hardest part of the weekend was to get the group to move anywhere because there was so much visiting going on.

On Saturday night we heard music from the past by, Gord & Deb Poley, Terry Janke, Walter Martens, and Jill Jeffrey. along with stories shared. Cindy (MacClure)Dearborn emceed this time together.    Sunday morning we were privileged to hear Judy Ford share about how God has enabled her to really live in the midst of becoming paralyzed from the waist down and how her wheel chair has been a blessing.   Terry & Pat Janke led the morning and had us end the reunion in small groups praying for each other. What a powerful way to close an incredible weekend together.  

God is faithful.
