Lorna Dueck is the President of Media Voice Generation and the Executive Producer of Listen Up – the flagship program of Media Voice Generation that examines the spiritual side of news and current events.

Victor has sung with a number of Manitoba’s premier musical arts organizations including the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir, the Mennonite Festival Chorus, Winnipeg Singers, Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and the celebrated choral ensemble, Canzona, under the direction of his father Henry Engbrecht.

Speaker - Linda Olson 1973 BA Providence College
Her leadership journey began at the age of twenty-one and has included everything from teaching troubled teens to surviving on an island. She has enjoyed the college life as Dean of Women, counseling in her private therapy practice, empowering women through service in Women's ministry, and most recently authoring a book, "Exceeding Your Expectations". Linda Graduated from Providence College in 1973 with a BA in Church MInistries.
Music - Carla Danelle (Carla Giesbrecht-Wat) Graduated from Providence College in 2007 with a Humanities Major and double minor in Music and Theatre. Carla has continued her music career in Winnipeg through singing in several choirs, teaching voice lessons, leading worship in her church (The Meeting Place) and playing at local coffee houses. She is also currently working on recording an EP which is in its final stages.

Providence is known for its unique environment rich in international culture. With students from around the world studying in nearly every program that Providence offers, Providence College and Seminary has become a training ground for people who desire to change the world. This is a different setting, with more international students per Canadian students than you will find in some other schools.
“International students help all of us at Providence to see the world more fully,” stated Daryl Climenhaga, Professor of Global Studies at Providence Seminary, “If we become more narrow in our outlook on life, we will not function as well in the diversity that characterizes Canadian life today.”
Diversity teaches us to get along with, communicate with, and serve others, which reinforces something else Providence is known for throughout the province: Field Education. Field Education is supervised volunteer experience in church, para-church and community organizations and each Providence student is required to have experienced Field Education before they graduate.
Students serve in churches, para-church organizations, schools, and community organizations all across southern Manitoba. These communities receive over 14,000 hours of service each year from Providence students. Many of the organizations depend on these students to fill their volunteer positions. They help the elderly, the children, the youth, and the disadvantaged. These hours are spent serving food, mentoring, offering companionship, doing manual labour, teaching, doing administrative duties, and filling leadership roles.
The Harvest Festival Banquet will also introduce a new aspect of Field Education that reaches beyond Manitoba borders, beyond Canadian borders. From Feb. 26 to Mar. 11, 2011, 18 Manitoba students will get the opportunity to travel to San Carlos, Mexico, for an Intercultural Service Learning opportunity.
