Guest pastors will reflect with students about their experience of preaching to present-day congregations and also discuss their observations about the future of pastoral minstry in a secular society.
Two sets of questions will be addressed by visitng pastors:
What have you learned about yourself since you started preachingd?
What have you learned about how people listen (or not)?
What do you think are the challenges for pastoral ministry in the next few years in a secular society?
Despite the challenges ahead, what blessings or opportunities do you see for people who are consiering pastoral ministry?
Value for Students
Seminary students in all degree programs will find value in thinking about how pastoral leadership is still vital for shaping new and existing congregations. These congregations can, in turn, produce peopel who support care, counselling, education and mission.
