Lady Freemen give solid team performance in three set sweep of Bottineau CollegeThe Lady Freemen Volleyball squad played host to Bottineau College Thursday evening in what was anticipated to be a long, hard fought battle. However, Providence came out strong, focused, and ready to compete as they sent their opponents home after three quick sets. The Lady Freemen showed their skill early on as they played a dominant first set to win 25-12. Bottineau then came out harder in the second set, but Providence was up for the challenge as they took it 25-16 in a set that featured multiple finesse tips from middle Jill Reimer. The Lady Freemen then finished the match emphatically on a Vicky Ryshytylo kill to take the final set 25-15. The team was led statistically by freshman libero Marianne Signer as she served up an amazing seven perfect passes and pulled out nine digs. Freshman Dana Edmondson also played strong defensively with seven digs. “I was proud of the way the girls played,” Coach Heidebrecht commented. “They had very few mental errors, played a strong all around game, and came together to defeat a very competitive team in a decisive three set match.” “I was very pleased with our performance tonight.” ![]() |
