CMU Blow By Lady Freemen
CMU defeat Providence 72-25
The Lady Freemen hoped to play a more competitive game Friday night as they faced a Canadian Mennonite University Blazers squad that dominated them 84-32 two nights earlier. However, the change of venue wasn’t enough to change the Lady Freemen’s luck Friday night as they suffered a 72-25 blowout loss at the hands of the Blazers.
The Blazers were too much for the Lady Freemen to handle right out of the gate as they took an early lead and never let it go. Lady Freemen freshman Sonia Radi put in a 14 point effort, but Providence was never really in the game and in the end the Blazers cruised to an easy 72-25 home court victory.
Lady Freemen coach Patti Parker was left looking for answers after her team faced its second big loss in a row at the hand’s of the Blazers.
“The girls were hoping to come out tougher than when they played CMU on Wednesday,” coach Parker commented. “But we could not handle their pressure and had difficulty scoring.
Notes: The Lady Freemen next play this weekend when they face the Red River Rebels in a home-and-home series.
