Faculty and Staff enjoy Employee Orientation Day
Providence faculty and staff prepared for the 2016-17 school year, considered the exciting future of the institution and fellowshipped with one another during the August 22 Employee Orientation Day.
Following a community breakfast and some introductions, President Dr. David Johnson challenged employees to help make Providence a “top-notch, Christian university.”
“We want to be a great Christian university to the Glory of God,” he said. “Our values are Christ-first, which entails the pre-eminence of Holy Scripture, community, hard thinking about hard questions and excellence in education.”
Providence graduates, said Johnson, make a difference by witnessing in word and deed.
Faculty and staff then participated in themed group discussions, took some time for lunch and finally gathered outside to release balloons.
After enjoying some ice cream they watched a magic show put on by resident Providence magician Dr. Randall Holm, and a barbecued pulled pork dinner completed the day.
Throughout the Orientation activities two things were clear: Providence employees are excited to welcome students back to campus, and they’re enthusiastic about where the institution is headed.
