Providence professor facilitating compassion-themed retreats
2017-03-23

Dr. Rolf Nolasco has organized and will be leading compassion-themed retreats this May in Calgary and June in Winnipeg. The events are part of Nolasco’s “Compassionate Presence” project, for which he recently received a grant from the Templeton Religion Trust.

Designed to serve pastors, psychotherapists, social workers, chaplains, student-counsellors, graduate students and other caregivers, the retreats will offer respite from the daily grind and equip participants with tools to help enliven and sustain the joy of journeying with others, especially those experiencing pain and suffering.

The Calgary retreat will take place May 16-17 at FCJ Retreat and Conference Centre and the Winnipeg retreat will be held June 19-10 at St. Benedict’s Retreat and Conference Centre.

Nolasco is Professor of Counselling Psychology at Providence.
