Providence Seminary

News Releases

Do you know what we did this summer?
Providence employees adventured near and far during the summer. For many it was a time to spend with friends and family. For others, such as the Enrollment Department (pictured above), it was an opportunity to let off a little steam (or bond, or whatever). Anyway, here’s a look at what we got up to between graduation and Welcome Week.

Cherry Wiebe, Vice President for Marketing & Communications, crossed the Beartook Pass as part of a three-week motorcycle trip to Portland, Oregon and back on her Royal Enfield Bullet.

Mile Two Discipleship School Director Jeff Banman, his wife Nicole and their two daughters enjoyed a vacation in Canmore, Alberta.

Library Director Terry Kennedy attended the Association of Christian Librarians Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Heather Macumber, Associate Professor of Biblical Studies, harvested summer oregano with her daughter Clare.

Nicholas Greco, Associate Professor of Communications & Media, his wife Antonella and daughter Serafina went to Walt Disney World.

Gary Schellenberg, Director of Institutional Services, watched his grandkids participate in Mud Heroes near Grand Beach.

Heidi Martens, Executive Assistant for Development, and husband Joel Coursey, Head Coach of the Pilots women's basketball team, hiked the Hunt Lake Trail.

Michael Gilmour, Professor of New Testament and English Literature (that's not him in the bubble), volunteered at the Winnipeg Humane Society and hung out with friends like Glinda (pictured), a "good" cat from the "north" end of the city. (Get it?)

Bruce Friesen-Pankratz, sessional instructor of Environmental Science and Zoology, acquired another donkey.

Music instructor Nicholas Mullin and his wife Nadia welcomed daughter Josephine Elizabeth on July 29.

Rebecca Dielschneider, Assistant Professor of Biology, and her husband Tyler and son Seth saw the tall ships while in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

Jerrad Peters, Creative Content Specialist, taught his nephew to drink straight out of the well tap.

Sven Thomas, Coordinator for Distance Education Learning, went on a solo backpacking trek.
