Seminary reflects on “The Privilege of Service” at Fall Retreat
2017-09-21

The 2017 Fall Retreat brought 40 Providence Seminary students and faculty together at St. Benedict’s Retreat and Conference Centre north of Winnipeg on Tuesday, September 5.

Themed “The Privilege of Service,” the one-day event included faculty reflections, listening exercises, singing and communion, and Dr. Stan Hamm presented the keynote address.

Dr. Hamm, Associate Professor of Education and Christian Studies and Academic Dean of Providence Seminary, points to the time spent in prayer, in worship and in community as a highlight of the day.

The Fall Retreat’s key verse was 2 Corinthians 5:19b-21: “And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin for us to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
