Providence Community Enjoys Diverse Chapel Service
2010-11-25

This Wednesday's Community Chapel was led by Providence international students. Ten international musicians led four worship songs, all in English. Then Adriano gave a testimony of how God saved him and has worked in his life. He also talked about the economic and spiritual needs in Brazil.

Adriano is a Seminary Counselling Psychology student from Brazil. He is 33 years old and was a pastor in Brazil for ten years. He is here with his wife Daniele and their two daughters. Daniele works as a custodian on campus. Adriano grew up in a non-Christian home and the Lord saved him as a teenager at a camp. After Adriano's testimony, John Johnson, International Student Coordinator, led in prayer for our international students and the whole Providence community. To close the service ten international students read Romans 12:9-12. Each student read a portion of the text in their native language. This semester there are at least ten languages spoken on campus.

This was an exciting chapel which highlighted once again the racial, cultural, and denominational diversity that exists on the Providence campus. Providence is a microcosm of the church around the world and a fulfillment of the biblical vision of humanity united in Christ.
