2nd Annual Providence Art Show

Origami, oil paintings, graphic design and photography were just a few of the mediums represented at the 2nd annual Prov Creates art show which was held last Thursday, January 20th, in the Reimer Student Life Centre. Over 20 different artists participated (each of them a staff/faculty member or a student of Providence), turning the Prov Creates gallery into a vibrant demonstration of the creativity within our community.

Visitors not only had the chance to enjoy a wide variety of art but also had the opportunity to vote for the Viewers' Choice Award. This year's recipient of the award was Lauren Andrews, with her untitled oil painting.

President Gus Konkel also got involved with Prov Creates this year by commissioning The Qumran Exhibit. Dr Konkel's Qumran class produced models, sketches and recreations related to the Dead Sea Scrolls and the life of the Qumran community.

Much thanks is extended to Dr Konkel and to all the artists who helped to make Prov Creates a success again, this year! We look forward to seeing even more of Providence's creative side next January.
