2011 Sports Camp Recap

Camp Staff in Hawaiian themed outfits
This past summer Providence Sports Camps reached its highest attendance in its history, totaling 415 over five weeks. The camp kicked off with a split-week of basketball and soccer, followed by four weeks of volleyball. This was the first time a fourth week of volleyball was added to the camp and still the number of campers soared.

As expected, popular evening events with themed décor, movies, and games remained a highlight for campers and staff. “The ambience and fantastic attitudes of all involved were notably the best we have witnessed in our years at Providence Sports Camps” noted Jen Lofthouse, Program Director of Providence Sports Camps.

In addition to having great attitudes, the campers displayed a fantastic work ethic and were especially impressive with the talent level that they brought to the skill sessions.

Campers show off their expert limbo skills
Due to continued growth and positive feedback from our camps, Providence Sports Camps is in the planning stages of adding Junior High Camps for next summer. Please check the sports camp webpage for further details and updates.

It will certainly be a challenge in the summer of 2012 to top the success of this year’s camps, but we are excited to give it a try!

Providence Sports Camps runs weeklong overnight camps for Junior High and High School aged students. Camps consist of skill development sessions, league play, evening and social events, and great food.
