Providence Signs Crystal Harms
The Providence University College women’s basketball team is happy to announce the addition of Crystal Harms to their 2012 roster. This 5’10” post, played her grade 11, 12 seasons with Fort Richmond Collegiate in Winnipeg. Harms played in BC prior to moving to Manitoba after her grade 10 season. Crystal comes from an alumni family with connections to the basketball program at Providence.
Harms was a part of the FRC Team that was ranked 3rd at the end of the regular season. The team made it to the Provincial final four where they met a hot Oak Park team. Harms was the starting post at FRC and is quite used to battling with some of the best high school post players in the province. At 5’10” Harms is an undersized low post player who plays more like she is 6 feet tall.
“Crystal is a physically strong post player who will be a major addition to our roster, as former starting post player Brynn Swan moves out to the wing,” said head coach Joel Coursey, “I know Crystal will fit in well with the hard working scrappy team that I have.”
Harms will help add size to the guard dominant roster at Providence, as the Freemen look to better their second place MCAC finish from 2011. Playing in the NCCAA is always a challenge but the Freemen are preparing for a strong season as they have 5 returning players.
