Providence Inks Kate Osadchuk
Providence is happy to announce the addition of Kate Osadchuk to the 2012 women’s soccer roster. Kate comes to Providence from Brandon Manitoba where she played her high school years at Neelin High School. Kate is a multisport athlete who also competed in high school volleyball and basketball.
Recruiting takes time and coach Calla experienced this as it took him two summers of recruiting Kate before she decided to sign with Providence. Kate is a top quality athlete who has worked very hard to get where she is. Kate had all three women’s coaches at Providence interested in her before finally committing to the soccer team.
“Kate’s ability to run at defenders and create space for herself and others is probably the most exciting aspect of her game,” said head coach Giancarlo Calla when asked about Kate, “she has so many qualities that will improve our team in more ways then one. I get excited when I think of her wearing the Providence Jersey.”
Coach Calla is thrilled to have talented and exciting players such as Kate joining the 2012 roster. The new season for the Providence women’s soccer team will get underway with training camp August 27th as the team looks for a win in the season opener against Presentation College. Providence invites all soccer fans to join us for our home opener against Medicine Hat College on Monday September 3rd, the women play at 10:00am with the men to follow at 12:00pm.
