Providence Athletics Receives Generous Donations
Some of you may have noticed a new shed that was built at the soccer fields at Providence. Through a matching donation project, the Athletics department was able to raise $49,500 for numerous facility upgrades and equipment needs. The utility shed that was recently built is one of those upgrades that has been in need for many years. This shed will serve three main purposes: a storage shed, admissions/concessions, and a pump house.
The soccer teams have had to carry out their equipment from the main building across the road for years. This shed will allow for all of their equipment and training aids to be stored for practices and games in a locked space. Another area of the shed will be used for concessions and admissions for our soccer home games. There is a separate room with windows on both sides where people can pay admission as well as order concessions from our growing list of delicious treats.
Finally, we have made space in this building for a pump house. We are in the process of digging a well outside of the shed that will be connected to our irrigation system which will be controlled in this pump house. Having these services out at the soccer fields will save our school roughly 10 to 15 man hours per week during the 6 months that the soccer fields are operational.
The extra money that was raised in this project will go towards other equipment that will improve the programs that we offer and help build the experience of our students.
Providence Athletics would like to thank all of the donors who are making these projects and upgrades possible.
