Providence Held Annual General Meeting
On Friday, November 1, Providence University College & Theological Seminary held its annual general meeting. Around one hundred and ten board and corporation members, staff and faculty of Providence, gathered for dinner and the meeting.
The meeting included the re-election of five Board members to Providence’s Board of Governors, along with the election of two new Board members, Lorna Dueck (Executive Producer and Host of ‘Context with Lorna Dueck’) and Jeff Pries (Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Bison Transport). Don Streuber, long-time Board member and past Board Chair, was also recognized for his twenty years of service to Providence.
A Providence employee, Claudia Castro, shared with the Board and Corporation about how she, and her family, came to Providence back in 2009. Bruce Day, a past employee of Providence met Martin, Claudia’s husband, and Claudia in Costa Rica and encouraged them to come to Providence to study.
Providence reports were given, starting with Heath Holden, VP for Enrolment Management and Student Success, who shared about the campus projects that were completed during this past year. As well, John Laugesan, VP for Finance, presented the 2012-13 Audit Report. Two new University College endeavors were announced by Academic Dean of the University College, Cameron McKenzie.
