"Nuts and Bolts" returns in January 2014
2013-11-27

You see them on the frontline every week, preaching a sermon, running the Sunday school program, leading worship, or any of the other dozens of tasks a church leader may be found doing on a Sunday morning. But when the church clears and Sunday morning is over, these church leaders have a ministry to manage – and for the second straight year, the Nuts & Bolts program is back to help point them in the right direction.

Beginning on January 30, 2014, Providence Theological Seminary, in partnership with the Providence Buller Centre for Business, will be producing the Nuts & Bolts for Ministries program, a six-session workshop aimed to provide leaders of all types of ministries with basic management training in areas such as budgeting, media relations, communications, and much more. The types of leaders who are likely to attend include pastors, church administrators, board leaders, board members executive directors, and program directors, all of whom possess essential spiritual gifts for leading a church body, but who may not have a lot of experience running the behind-the-scenes work of an entire organization.

This year’s sessions come after a successful launch of the program in 2013, which saw 20 ministry leaders across Manitoba attend the six-session workshop, and be a part of a great dialogue to help further the reach and effectiveness of their church ministries. This year, led by primary facilitator Bob Fast, Providence expects the sessions to be even more informative and useful, thanks to great feedback from last year’s participants, and the new inclusion of para-church and community ministries to the group of attendees..

This year’s sessions are $315 per person (with bursaries available if needed), and run every other Thursday morning from January 30 – April 10, 2014, at the Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church.
