Another Great Harvest Festival Banquet
2009-09-29

On September 26 and 27, Providence hosted the annual Harvest Festival Banquets in the new Reimer Student Life Centre. Between the two nights, over 500 people attended.

Development Coordinator, Emily Summach commented on the events. "Each night had a unique and inspiring performance. On Friday evening, Murray Taylor shared an encouraging testimony of God's faithfulness in his life and the Pollards offered beautiful and uplifting music. On Saturday, Mason Peters combined his gifts of music, acting, and teaching to give guests a truthful message wrapped up in humor."

Summach was encouraged to see the great turnout on what may have been the last warm weekend of the year. "It was wonderful to celebrate the Harvest season with music and words that remind us of God's faithfulness to his people."

The Harvest Festival Banquets mark the last event for two long time members of Providence’s Development team. Bruce Day has been at Providence for 5 years and Dale Nye for over 9 years. Both have decided, separately, that it is time for them to invest their lives in a new direction. Providence will miss them both, but wishes them all the best.
