Latest issue of Didaskalia now available
The latest issue of DidaskaliaProvidence Theological Seminary’s peer-reviewed, academic journal—is now available to readers.
As editor Daryl Climenhaga, Associate Professor of Global Studies at Providence, writes in his opening letter, the articles within “are worth the wait.”
Of note is the contribution of McMaster Divinity College professor August Konkel (pictured below), who, explains managing editor Russell Doerksen, discusses human value in light of Creation, the Image of God, and community in a piece entitled “In Defense of Human Values: The Good Life Under Divine Covenant.”
Konkel, incidentally, is President Emeritus of Providence.
Doerksen also points to Hendrik van der Breggen’s article, “It’s not Interpretation all the Way Down: A Defence of Simple Seeing,” as a particular highlight.
“He spends this article discussing how the popular “interpretation-all-the-way-down” philosophical tendency in modern education is deeply flawed, and how this impacts Christianity,” says Doerksen.
Van de Breggen is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Providence.
Didaskalia has been published since 1990 and is available through subscription (free to students). Interested parties can sign up by emailing, and back issues are also available upon request.
Going forward Patrick Franklin, Assistant Professor of Theology and Ethics at Providence, will be serving as the journal’s editor.
