Lady Freemen Shut Out by North Central University
Offensive woes continue for Lady Freemen Soccer
Entering Friday afternoon on a three game losing streak, the Lady Freemen were hoping for a positive result against their NCCAA regional rivals in North Central University. Although they left the game with a 3-0 loss, Coach Janke and her squad played an evenly fought match and were only left unsuccessful due to their inability to finish opportunities.
In a game that saw both sides build attacks throughout the game, NCU was the only team able to take advantage, and they opened the scoring in the first. The Lady Freemen then built up multiple attacks against NCU but were not able to put the finishing touches on opportunities and remained scoreless. NCU finished by putting away two more in the second half to finish the scoring at 3-0 in their favor.
Coach Janke left the game optimistic, knowing that once her ladies are able to finish their opportunities they will be a tough team to beat.
“I feel good about the game,” Coach Janke said. “I don’t think the girls should leave the game discouraged at all. I think our play showed that we can compete with intensity, and I really don’t think our opponents outplayed us today. It’s just a matter of finishing for us, and that’s just something that we need to keep working on.”
