Graduate Certificate in Applied Counselling

Study Online

The Graduate Certificate in Applied Counselling program (18 Credit Hrs.) is intended for those who want to augment their understanding of Christian counselling and improve their care-giving skills for helping ministries or professions. The journey involves taking courses from qualified and experienced practitioners from the convenience of your home or office while still enjoying the benefits of a cohort group of men and women who enjoy the opportunity to learn together under the guidance of our Counselling Psychology professors.

This is also an opportunity to explore the counseling graduate level courses offered by Providence with the possibility of transferring credit for these courses into the Master of Arts in Counselling or Counselling Psychology degree programs for those who are interested in pursuing a professional counseling career. Coursework successfully completed for the Graduate Certificate in Applied Counselling may be transferable to other Providence Seminary degree programs (applicant must meet degree program entrance qualifications).

Program Eligibility

Acceptance into the Graduate Certificate in Applied Counselling program will be evaluated on case-by-case basis. Our complete admissions policy is available for viewing in the Seminary Catalogue ( Admissions Policy, Category 2.1).

In such instances, previous post-secondary education, employment and/or ministry experience may be taken into account. "In the three years I spent at Providence, my understanding of the Bible was strengthened, along with my appreciation for historical Christianity and the Church. I know I have been well-equipped for vocational ministry wherever God may lead."
