Graduate Certificate in Church Ministry

Study Online

The Graduate Certificate in Church Ministry program (18 Credit Hrs.) is intended for those people, both professional and lay, both younger and older, who would like to increase their knowledge and skills for church or para-church ministries. The certificate can be earned entirely online. The program introduces the student to basic theological content as well as various ministry related skills such as Christian education, administration and leadership, and counselling, all within a multi-cultural Canadian context. These courses are taught by qualified professors from the Seminary's three departments; Counselling, Christian Ministries, and Biblical and Theological Studies.

This is also an opportunity to explore graduate level courses offered by Providence with the possibility of transferring these courses into a Master of Arts or Master of Divinity degree program for those pursuing a professional career. Coursework successfully completed for the Graduate Certificate in Church Ministry may be transferable to other Providence Seminary degree programs (applicant must meet degree program entrance qualifications).

Program Eligibility

Acceptance into the Graduate Certificate in Church Ministry program will be evaluated on case-by-case basis. Our complete admissions policy is available for viewing in the Seminary Catalogue ( Admissions Policy, Category 2.1).

In such instances, previous post-secondary education, employment and/or ministry experience may be taken into account.
