Cross-Cultural Discipleship Certificate

REQUIREMENTS: 30 Credit Hours

This certificate can be completed within 24 months or sooner. Students may shorten the period of certificate completion by attending scheduled on-campus courses.

This program is designed to equip men and women who wish to meet the growing demand for a discipleship that trains and equips people for service in cross-cultural settings. It is designed to assist them in developing an awareness of culture, an awareness of teaching principles, and an ability to meet those needs. The graduate should be able to disciple others who will be disciplers in their own culture. Those taking this certificate will be required to be involved in a practical ministry with Project L.A.M.B.S. or another approved agency.

  • BI5102 Reading the Church's Bible (3 credit hrs)
  • Biblical Studies Elective (3 credit hrs)
  • TS5201 Theological Foundations (3 credit hrs)
  • Theology Elective (3 credit hrs)
  • GS5111 Cross-Cultural Discipleship (3 credit hrs)
  • GS5102 Worldview and Culture (3 credit hrs)
  • EM5103 Theories of Learning (3 credit hrs)
  • EM5015 Adminstration and Leadership (3 credit hrs)
  • EM7501 Directed Studies (2 credit hrs)
  • EM5504 Teaching in a Cross-Cultural Setting or GS6501 Supervised Ministry in Global Studies (4 credit hrs)

Coursework successfully completed for the Graduate Certificate in Cross-Cultural Discipleship may be transferable to other Providence Seminary degree programs (applicant must meet degree program entrance qualifications).  

Acceptance into this Graduate Certificate program will be evaluated on case-by-case basis. Although a recognized undergraduate degree is preferred, admission as a mature student without an undergraduate degree will be considered. In such instances, previous post-secondary education, employment and/or ministry experience may be taken into account. 

Method of Instruction

Please note the method of instruction:

  • DISTANCE EDUCATION: Consists of a mixture of course delivery methods: Online, Module, Directed Study, and Hybrid (online & modular).
