The Master of Arts programs at Providence give students the opportunity to focus their energies in a limited sphere of study while offering enough theological breadth to provide a context for understanding the specialty.
The MA (Christian Studies) program is very flexible. It is a basic program that advances the student's general knowledge of Christian faith and practice. It allows the student to explore areas of interest at a masters level.
The MA (Theological Studies) program involves the writing of a scholarly thesis and is geared for those who want to pursue a career in teaching theology or biblical studies. Most who complete this program will want to go on for an academic doctorate. Many of our students have done so in Canadian and international universities and seminaries.
The other MA programs involve course work and practica that prepare students for a vocation in counselling, student development, missions, or church ministry.
