Program Summary

REQUIREMENTS: 60 Credit Hours

The Youth Ministries Studies Major is designed to prepare men and women to serve effectively in occupational youth ministry in any church or para-church setting. Graduates will be enabled to discern the call of God for their lives, understand the nature of the adolescent transition, engage in youth ministry as practical theology, build a yough ministry program based on contextual perspective, develop programs that prioritize the safety of the participants, and learn introductory skills for effective counselling.

The degree requirement is 60 credit hours. It provides a foundation in the academic study of the Bible, and explore various forms of youth ministry. Students develop a personal philosophy of youth ministry and will receive practical, culturally-relevant ministry training that will equip them for service in the field. The course of study involves experiential learning, allowing students to study both the theoretical foundations and practical skills of youth ministry.
