The Master of Divinity (Professional) Pentecostal Studies Track

In 2007 the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) approved an agreement between Horizon Seminary and Providence Theological Seminary.  This agreement created a Pentecostal Studies track within Providence's M. Div. (Professional) program.  This track provides an opportunity for men and women who worship and minister in Pentecostal settings to complete a M. Div. specific to their current setting.

In cooperation with Horizon Pentecostal Seminary in Saskatoon, Providence offers a Master of Divinity (Professional) program with a Pentecostal Studies track. The foundational courses are offered by Providence, with Horizon Pentecostal Seminary providing the Pentecostal distinctive courses (28 credit hours).

Students who graduate from the Pentecostal Studies track will receive the Master of Divinity degree from Providence and a Diploma in Theology from Horizon Pentecostal Seminary.  This diploma will qualify the graduate to apply to The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada for ministerial credentials leading toward ordination.

Student Experience

"Providence challenged me intellectually, fostering my critical thinking in regards to God, such as what I believe and why I believe it. This in turn sparked a love for Theology and desire to pursue theological doctoral studies."

Renee Monkman, Master of Divinity, Ph.D. Student - Toronto School of Theology
