![]() Diploma in Counselling
The Seminary Counselling Department partners with the Rankin Counselling Programme in presenting a Counselling Diploma. This program is designed to train men and women as (non-vocational) counsellors for ministry in Inuit and First Nations communities. This program gives the theoretical foundation and the basic skills to promote Christian growth through offering spiritual encouragement and help. It is presented in different Canadian and Greenland communities, and Providence Theological Seminary confers the diploma. Since 1998 the training has been offered in Rankin Inlet, Baker Lake, Iqaluit, Pangnirtung, and Coral Harbour, Nunavut; Inuvik and Fort Smith, Northwest Territories; Dryden, Ontario; Smithers, British Columbia; and Sisimiut, Greenland. The training is currently offered at Arviat/Rankin Inlet, Nunavut; Dryden, Ontario; Fort St. John and Smithers, British Columbia; Fredericton, New Brunswick; and Nuuk, Greenland.
