M.A. in Educational Studies

The Master of Arts in Educational Studies, TTESOL Major trains people to teach those desiring to teach English to speakers of other languages.The program offers a core of biblical and theological studies. It presumes a level of competence in linguistic theory gained at an undergraduate level and concentrates on pedagogical concerns.
This program trains people to teach those desiring to teach English to speakers of other languages. Graduates will come away from the program with the ability to develop curricula and train teachers in applied linguistics, second language acquisition and methodology. You will gain skills in supervising pre-service language teachers as well as skills in evaluating language learners, teachers and programs.
A core of biblical and theological studies together with courses in linguistics and language pedagogy offers a unique combination of theological and professional formation.
TTESOL is a major in both the Educational Studies program and the Global Studies Program. The difference lies in the type of additional courses taken. In Educational Studies, one will take additional courses in Christian Ministries and/or Counselling; in Global Studies, one will take additional courses in Christian mission.
Graduates are employed in churches, educational institutions, language training agencies, immigrant resource services, para-church organizations, and missions organizations.
