CP5512: Psychopharmacology and the Counsellor: Medicine, Counselling, Health and Healing

With the increasing use of medications as part of treatment for many individuals, it is becoming ever more necessary for counsellors to have a fundamental knowledge of how these medications work, types of adverse effects to watch for, and how to best support our clients. This course will provide the opportunity to discuss the various types of medications which are often prescribed as part of the treatment regimen, and how we, as counsellors, can knowledgably play a valuable role as part of the health care team.
