BI5101: Hermeneutics - March 10-14
How does one understand the Bible? Dr. Gus Konkel teaches March 10-14 on Hermeneutics, the art and science of interpreting the Bible. As a divinely inspired ancient text preserved in the language, history, and culture of its time, how does one faithfully bring that text into contemporary language and understanding? What role does the author, the medium (written text), and the reader play in the interpretive task? Dr. Konkel brings years of research, teaching, and preaching to the topic. Students, pastors, and lay people will benefit from this course. Its modular format provides an intensive, collegial and integrative context for this work.
