Off-Campus Housing

There are opportunities to rent or buy houses, mobile homes, and apartments in the communities surrounding Providence. Many international students live in these nearby communities or even in Winnipeg, and commute to Providence for classes. Be aware that there is no public transportation to Providence and therefore you will need your own vehicle or arrange carpooling. Area residents often advertise available accommodations on Providence’s House Listings website where you will find listings for houses, apartments, and single rooms.

You can also find accommodation listings in the local newspaper called The Carillon. The Carillon online classified ads show accommodations for rent or for sale; once on the Carillon website click “classifieds” on the right hand side. If you need any further help looking for a house, apartment, or a room contact the Student Services Coordinator.

Where to Look
As a new student moving into a new community you may find it is difficult to make a well-informed decision about where to live. Refer to Communities Around Providence for more information about the towns located near Providence College and Seminary.

Temporary Accommodation

If you will be arriving before your apartment/residence hall/house is ready, temporary accommodations are available on and off-campus. There are two guest rooms available on campus; rates are $30/night (single) and $35/night (couple), plus taxes. If you would like to make a reservation, please contact the Campus Service Coordinator or call 1-800-668-7768 ext. 232.
